Ship Calculation module from Strong Software

CALCULATE SHIPPING COSTS
In Order Entry after all the line items are entered and you enter a  'ship' type item, you can have a message box that will pop up giving you the option to calculate the shipping cost!  Replying with a "Yes", brings up a form displaying the total weight computed from the weight field in the inventory file.  

MANUAL MODE:
To manually calculate the price, use the defaulted Manual page tab of the Shipping Charges screen. The "Multiplier" field is a factor for the weight.  This is a fixed rate that can be entered manually but gets its default rate from the Rules table. The "Base" field is the Multiplier times the weight.  The "Add" field can be entered manually or it can be populated by having its default value from the Rules table. This would add an additional sum to the price.  Likewise, you may enter a Percentage to the base amount.  The default percentage is also entered into the Rules table. You may use either "Add" or "Percent", but not both to compute your final shipping charge.

Pressing the "OK" button populates the Price field of the sales order with the Price field from our form.  Pressing the "Cancel" button leaves the Price field blank.

INSTALLING THE SHIPPING COST MODULE
1) Replace the SOPOST.VCX and SOPOST.VCT files in your SO program folder with the attached files. Please save your current SOPOST.VCX/VCT files to a "Save" directory for safe keeping before overwriting.  We have made just a few changes to the SOPOST form. These changes only affect the item selection when it detects a "Ship" type item. 
2) Place the ssShip.exe file into your Pro system folder (where Sysdata.dbf is located). 

SETUP SCREEN:
You may enter default values into our setup screen.  To access the setup screen, enter a sales order and select a "ship" type line item.  Respond "yes" to the prompt asking if you wish to calculate the shipping charges.  The Calculate Shipping Charges form will show up.  Click on the Setup button and enter your settings.
The settings are:
A multiplier of the total weight to arrive at a price.
A flat dollar amount you wish to add to the the above price.
A percentage added to the above price.
Note that you may add a flat amount or a percentage but not both.

For the UPS option, there are two items that are needed in the setup:
UPS ZIP  The first 3 digits of the zip code you are shipping from.
UPS Residential Surcharge.

INSTALL the UPS Option:
Computing UPS rates automatically is an optional feature. It is always available to Company 99.  
To use the UPS calculations, see the separate read_ups.txt file

For "live" program, you will have an install code so that you may run the UPS Option from companies other than Co.99.
